What is a synthetic A2J test corpus?
A set of court and advice-service files built to replicate the complexity of real justice journeys — the documents, evidence, gaps and inconsistencies a system will actually meet. The matters are fictional: every person, address and organisation in them is invented, and no real litigant information is used.
Which jurisdictions do you cover?
The two Complex Edge Case Indexes published on this page are set in England, and we also build corpora for Australia. Jurisdiction is a configuration option — tell us what you need when you order, and we will confirm fit during scope confirmation.
Do you need access to our users' or clients' files?
No. Corpora are generated independently of your real case data, so there is no need to share confidential or privileged material in order to test against realistic files.
How are vulnerability and edge cases represented?
Test matters include edge cases designed to evaluate how technology performs when users are vulnerable, have complex or intersecting needs, have limited legal or digital literacy, provide incomplete or inconsistent information, face language or accessibility barriers, misunderstand legal processes, or present with multiple legal and non-legal problems. Corpora can also replicate operational realities such as missing evidence, procedural errors, jurisdictional issues, urgent matters, competing accounts, unusual fact patterns and cases requiring escalation or human intervention.
How large is a single matter?
Just like real matters, the size of a single matter is highly variable, but may contain as many as 100 documents and up to 600 pages, across as many as 12 file types. The synthetic files can also be structured to allow testing of tools at different stages of a matter — for example a pre-commencement bundle or a pre-hearing bundle.
Can we see real files before committing?
Yes. Three sample documents from Index 01 can be opened directly from this page: an occupational therapy functional assessment, a landlord adjustment decision letter, and a tenant-landlord email chain on bathroom access. They are real files from the corpus, not mock-ups.
How are the test files delivered?
You will receive a link from which you can download your test files. Each bundle contains a key or README file.
